Start with three eligibility checkpoints

These guidelines provide a starting point. Eligibility is determined for each individual health care location under USAC program rules.

Public or nonprofit

The health care organization generally must be operated by a public entity or nonprofit organization.

Eligible entity type

The location must fall within an eligible health care provider category recognized by USAC.

Rural location

The location generally must be rural. A non-rural location may qualify as part of a majority-rural consortium.

Community or migrant health center
Not-for-profit hospital
Skilled nursing facility
Rural health clinic
Community mental health center
Teaching hospital or medical school
Dedicated ER of a rural for-profit hospital
Local health department or agency

WHAT MAY BE ELIGIBLE

If your organization qualifies, what could USAC funding help support?

Commonly supported services and technology are summarized below. Program rules and service-specific restrictions apply.

American PCS is a registered USAC Rural Health Care service provider with an active 498 ID/SPIN and can provide many of the eligible technology and connectivity services supported through the program.

* Consortium rules and service-specific restrictions apply. Some equipment is eligible only when it makes a supported broadband service functional. USAC makes the final eligibility determination.

TIMING MATTERS

Give the application room to be complete

Starting in August or September creates time to validate, scope, bid and correct documentation.

Prepare forms and service specifications, plan competitive bidding, and organize supporting documents.

FY2027 funding requests may be submitted. File as soon as the application is complete and accurate.

Final Funding Request Deadline

FCC Forms 462 or 466 must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 1, 2027.
